Associate Member vs. Pledge

As a new member of Lambda Chi Alpha you will become familiar with our Associate Member program. Lambda Chi Alpha has not had a pledge process since 1972, when it was replaced by the AM program.

As an Associate Member, you will receive the rights and privileges that the active Brothers receive in deciding matters of the Fraternity. Some other fraternities with traditional pledge programs segregate their pledges into a subordinate group which don't give them any rights or decisions, but not Lambda Chi. To this day, Lambda Chi Alpha is the only national fraternity that does not have one of these pledge programs.

Here at Lambda Chi we believe that we are here to create better men, and hazing contradicticts this mission. Associate Members have the right to speak and vote on all matters of the Fraternity except those regarding Initiation.
